Utilizing the PowerPoint interface, you will learn how to create a research poster for the purpose of print or display. This workshop will examine the appearance of the poster in terms of layout, theme, colours, fonts, figures/graphics as well as other useful tips.

Objectives:

In this workshop, you will:

  • Open a blank presentation and explore the PowerPoint interface, examining the essential tools and different views;
  • Create a blank poster and modify slide theme/layout, text and graphic placement;
  • Discuss some important considerations in poster creation (printing, graphic quality for print, negative space, text size, etc);

Faculty may request that Tech Help include addtional objectives.
