Blackboard Instructor Help: One-on-One

Description:

***Please contact the SERVICE DESK before class and request a development course for practice purposes***

Got an hour and want some one-on-one time with our Blackboard trainer?

Blackboard is a web-based tool that provides the instructor the freedom to focus on teaching and learning techniques. This tool is used to supplement existing face-to-face classes and to deliver on-line distance classes.

With Blackboard, instructors can quickly and easily:

  • distribute class material to students including locally developed files (powerpoints, sound clips) or web-based resources (youtube videos, flickr images).
  • communicate with students, through email or class announcements.
  • set up learning communities through student group work, discussions, blogs, wikis and chat rooms, so students can interact with, and learn from, each other.
  • evaluate students through online quizzes, assignments, wikis, and discussions.
  • support students on the go, with access from mobile devices and email notifications of changes in the course.
  • simplify administrative tasks like grading, distributing grades to students, or identifying students who are having problems in the class early so they can get help.

This workshop is taylored to your needs like where to find items such as announcements, adding files, creating links, emailing students, posting images and creating of hand-in folders.

Additional help is available online using the complete Instructor Guide
