MS Excel - Intermediate

This course elaborates on the concepts presented in the Excel Introduction offering, and expands on the basics. You will work with large worksheets, multiple worksheets and apply advanced formatting, themes, styles and sort, filter and apply table formatting. You will learn how to link formulas across worksheets, protect worksheets, track changes, create templates and share workbooks. Advanced functions such as logical ifs will be introduced. Use named references , hyperlinks and separating/ consolodating data will be covered. Create basic pivot tables and pivot charts for data reporting.  For more detailed information on the course, please see the objectives listed below.

Objectives:

Prerequisites: Before enrolling in this course, participants will have completed the MS Excel - Introduction course, or have equivalent spreadsheet experience.

In this course, participants will:

  • explore application settings
  • create and use templates
  • apply protection settings
  • apply themes and styles
  • work with special formatting , custom formatting
  • apply conditional formatting
  • use the search, find and replace feature
  • seamlessly create email addresses
  • calculate data across worksheets
  • work with multiple worksheets and workbooks
  • create subtotals, SUMIF, AVERAGEIF, COUNTIF, IF logical functions
  • sort or filter worksheet or table data
  • consolodate data, separate data as appropriate
  • create and manage hyperlinks
  • summarize data with a Pivot report, Pivot chart
  • employ and explore the Table feature
